Confusing Adverbs


1. Over VS Above

Over: Menunjukkan benda diatas yang berwujud (The plane is over my head)
Above: Menunjukkan benda diatas yang tidak berwujud (The temperature is above normal level).

2. In VS Into (Di vs Ke)

In: Tanpa aktivitas sebelumnya (I am in the water)
Into: Terdapat aktivitas sebelumnya (She jumps into the pool)

3. Under VS Below (Dibawah)

Under: Dibawah (benda yang nyata), eg: The shoes is under the table.
Below: Dibawah (benda yang tidak nyata), eg: The sea level is below normal.

4. Past VS Beyond 

Past: Mengikuti kata kerja yang beraktivitas. Eg: She went past the house at 1 am.
Beyond: Mengikuti be. Eg: His spirit is beyond his talent.
